Cinematography Lab
MSU will be hosting two exceptional filmmakers Friday Oct 2nd in Leon Johnson Hall room 339 @ 1-2pm – please mark your calendars. This will be an hour Q&A session with Haskell Wexler ASC and David Klein specifically arranged for MSU students.
Haskell Wexler ASC started his career as a rebel filmmaker shooting documentaries and later moved to features. He has the rare distinction of having won Academy Awards in both documentary and feature film as well as nominations and additional awards such as the American Society of Cinematographers Lifetime Achievement award. He is an elected member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and has been named by the Cinematographers Guild as one of the ten most influential cinematographers in American cinema.
David Klein successfully when right from film school into the industry as Director of Photography. His recent credits include the outstanding Pushing Daisies television series. He has two features in post and three more in pre-production.
Research links are below. I encourage students to view their work and come armed with thoughtful questions.
There also will be a cinematography panel 1pm Sat the 3rd @ the Emerson, Bozeman.
Thanks and hope to see you at both events.
